Foundations
Foundations is a ten-week Sunday intensive class open to students in grades 5th-12th. Our focus is to provide an in-depth exploration of the Islamic Sciences. Through engaging lessons and interactive activities, students will build a foundational understanding of the deen.
For our second semester, we will be breaking down the subject of Aqidah and understanding what our core beliefs are. Aqidah often refers to aspects of belief that are obligatory upon a person to establish in his heart and have faith in. These are the concepts and ideas that a person adopts regarding the Creator, this universe, the purpose of creation, this world, the next world, and so forth.
By the end of the program, students will:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of an Islamic Science based on their grade level
- Discuss how this knowledge shapes their day-to-day life and overall understanding of Islam
Our Islamic studies curriculum is based on Tayseer Seminary’s Ibn Abbas Youth program and classes will be taught mainly by Tayseer graduates. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with guest speakers and experts on current events, work through personal development workshops, and engage in activities to build social bonds with their peers
